Sarojini Naidu(1879-1949)

Introduction

Sarojini Naidu was born on 13 February 1879 in a Bengali family in Hyderabad. Naidu was born in Madras, London, and Cambridge. She was famous as a poet and politician. She worked for the Congress party's struggle for India Independence. She joined the Congress Party in 1925. She was involved in the Indian Independence movement after returning from England. She had two brothers and one sister. His brother's name is Virendernath and Harindernath. Her sister's name is Suhasini. She was the eldest of eight siblings. Her father was a Bengali Brahmin and a principal of Nizam College. Her mother wrote poetry in Bengali. 


Early Life

Chattopadhyay returned to Hyderabad in 1898. That same year, she married Govindaraju Naidu, who belongs to Andhra Pradesh. She married an intercaste when they met in England. Both their families agreed to their marriage. They had five Children. 

Career

Naidu began writing at the age of 12. She wrote, Maher Muneer, written in Persian; Naidu's poetry was written in English, and they used the form of lyric poetry in the culture of British Romanticism. She was well regarded as a poet. Her first book was published in 1905. The name of the title was "The Golden Threshold". Her second and most strongly nationalist book of poems, The Bird of Time, was published in 1912. It was published in both London and New York. The last book of new poems published in her lifetime. The Broken Wing(1917).
