Chris Gardner: American businessman and motivational speaker
Chris Gardner was born on February 9, 1954, in the city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He had a really hard childhood since he was poor, his father was violent, and he wasn't there for him. He grew up wanting to make life better for himself and his family, even if things were hard.
Education and Early Life
In the 1980s, Gardner had a hard time being homeless and raising his small boy on his own. At one point, he and his son even had to sleep in public restrooms and shelters because they had no other place to go.
Career
Gardner's big break came when he received an unpaid internship at a brokerage firm. He never gave up, even though he was homeless. He worked hard and didn't give up, and in the end, he became a successful stockbroker. Later, he started his own brokerage firm in Chicago called Gardner Rich & Co.
